Cool C - I Gotta Habit (1989)

Cool C (real name Christopher Roney) was a Philidelphia rapper who's currently in prison on death row. Back in 1996, he was involved in a botched bank robbery in which he shot and killed Philidelhia police officer Lauretha Vaird, who became the first female Philidelphia officer killed in the line of duty. Cool C was supposed to have been put to death by lethal injection on March 9th, 2006. But, he recieved a stay of execution...and from what I could dig up, he's still in prison waiting for his date with the needle.

Mythic - Rehearsal Demo (1991)

Also included in this download is a demo by a band called Unacceptable. I got this tape (which was recorded on a TDK) at a metal show. I was there to do an article on a band and I got to talkin' to this guy who was also working on some music and, luckily, he had a tape with him and he gave it to me. I don't know what became of the band or if they actually released anything or not. This demo was the only music that I ever got to hear.

As for Mythic, I remember reading about this band in an old, now out of print, California fanzine. If it mentioned that they were from Pennsylvania, I never took notice until I found this demo, which isn't exactly high quality. I have seen a few other releases by the band online and I'll probably download them and (eventually) post them here.

Even though this band's musical style isn't really my cup of tea, I still appreciate releases such as this because, first of all, an original copy is probably hard to come by and, going by the sound quality, it was probably a DIY release and it's cool to see a band put something out there like this because it does become part of their history and it proves that they were workin' hard and bustin' their ass to get their name and music known. Plus, people other than myself dig this kind of stuff and a lot of bands don't seem to "get it." They don't seem to understand that people who like the band would want to check out your early material or a rehearsal or whatever. Know what I mean?

Today We Live - Demo (1994)

Dezire (see post below) went through some line up changes as well as a change in musical style (they moved in a heavier direction) and became Today We Live.
